I loved every single one of my fine art classes and I know I want to do something creative, but I have no idea what that actually looks like in a career.
I chose English as something practical to fall back on or potentially build on with grad school.
But over the past year, I've also gotten really into digital art and design using Procreate and Adobe.
Oh, great.
Oh, the software is available.
Oh, very sweet.
Sweet.
now i feel pulled in a million directions part of me wonders if i should pursue something like design properly part of me thinks i should keep studying and another part of me is like do i just get a stable nine to five and figure it out on the side i feel stuck between wanting to use my creativity in a meaningful way and being scared of choosing the wrong path or not being secure enough
I don't even know what jobs I should be looking for, let alone whether I need more education or just more real world experience.
So girls, what would you do in my position?
Do I commit to something creative and go all in or is it smarter to play it safe and explore alongside a stable job?
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm big on that.
I also think that like, it's not always, they're not always two extremes.
Yeah, even like the design aspect, there are so many stable nine to fives that are like in the design aspect and, you know, digital design, all of those different things.
And it's like...
you you don't need to go into like a quote-unquote stable nine to five that you fucking hate because you're just not going to stick to it um also an added bit of advice is i think that you should speak to some people who do each of those jobs like literally like message people and just be like do you like your job what's the worst part of it like watch people's tiktoks and youtubes and all of that like get some insight into it because i think so many of us have this view of what a certain job looks like or is based on the title or whatever it might be and actually the reality of
Like, learn as much as possible, try as much as possible.
It's not set in stone now.
Yeah.
