So, you know, you can feminize or masculinize yourself without doing, if you like, a full from, you know, male to female or female to male transition in one go.
You don't have to do it like that.
Well, it depends what you mean by right time.
I mean, you've got to feel comfortable that this is the right time for me and I'm going to do it and I'm going to start and I've got the right supports in place.
Again, I really can't stress enough, you know, the importance of social supports as well as maybe things like support groups that are facilitated so that people get an opportunity to explore their experiences and share their experiences.
Otherwise, it's like, you know, yeah, you decide, you decide.
And you can argue things like, well, if you're younger, the younger you start hormone therapy, possibly the better results.
But, you know, they're people who transition in their 80s.
So, you know, better late than never.
Oh wow, yeah look that's not, well you're not alone.
I think it's a real challenge for parents, for some parents, to understand what's happening, either they don't actually understand what being trans means.
And I think one of the key things for parents is that there is an intense and very deep sense of loss and grief that's associated when their child comes out as trans.
So, we have to kind of treat them, I think, gently to some extent.
It's about education.
There are organisations, you know, for families of trans people.
So, there's Trans Family, funnily enough, so you can Google these, Trans Family, Transcend, and there's also Parents of Gender Diverse Children as well.
There's quite a lot of supports for the family and organisations like, you know, sort of the ones that I work for around counselling can also provide family counselling for the families of trans people.

Well, I guess, you know, very simply, if you think about it, you know, you have a child.
And for many people, they're cis and they perceive their child as cisgendered.
