You know, it it still matters, it's not only local links.
You want to get links from industry relevant sites as well.
So the relevancy factor is still important.
And you know, the the contextual bits around the link that inform Google, hey, it's not just the anchor text, but it's all the text and content around it.
That's still important as well.
It's more of the high level, you know, you go to a link building presentation at a conference.
Like we were just talking about Brighton SEO before we recorded the show.
You go see a link building presentation at Brighton that's not mine or not Joy's.
It's gonna be all about let's create this big piece of content with our digital PR team and our big budget and go do all this outreach and get all these links.
Where with local, it's more about, hey, what are the relationships you have in the local area?
It's it's just a different method of approaching link building, but the kind of nuts and bolts of the links are still the same.
Except for the authority and the no follow side.
With local, you really want to make sure you're getting links from the same local area that you're in.
So, for instance, let's say I am a blue widget retailer in Dallas, Texas.
I want to get links from other businesses in Dallas, whether they're related to me being a blue widget retailer or not.
Getting links from some businesses in Chicago don't really help me.
Getting links from New York or Miami or LA don't really help me.
I want links from the same
Same town that I'm in because that backs up the local relevancy.
And the easiest way to get those local links is to do all of the old school kind of grassroots marketing that people did before we had the internet.
