Was it going to be Anna or was there someone else like Vicky Ellens-Kinlan to get in?
And then you see Robin burst onto the scene and what she's clearly doing week in and week out within there.
I know she's brought into the sevens as well, which has probably brought her game to a new level in terms of the speed element of it.
But yeah, no, it's great to see her go from strength to strength and it's probably the start of a very long career for her in green.
So it's great.
like about as seamless a transition into it as I think um Scott Beaman could have hoped for yeah and I think when she first I know we talked about this way back when she first got announced as captain I was only my only reservation was like oh god I was like why are you doing this to her when she's back from injury that was my only fear I knew how well she was regarded by the girls I didn't get the the luxury of playing with her myself she was in the sevens circuit when I was in 15s but
it was more that she was being, you know, thrust into this position straight off the back of a long-term injury.
And as you said, with not much 15s kind of experience under her belt, you'd want her just to come back, play free flow and rugby, enjoy herself and not have all the strings are attached.
Cause there's a lot to it.
Like you're, you know, yourself from the journalistic side, you're in press conferences regularly.
for hours on end of certain days of the match you're in front of cameras you're trying to do all that on top of knowing all your detail on top of making sure all your team are okay and checking in on everybody so she did a phenomenal job as you said like for her to still shine the way she did and bring her strengths to the fore she really played and led by example and and she just bleeds green and bleeds the passion and she brings the girls along with her and that's so
from that point of view was delighted to see her get through the campaign injury free considering how how hard an injury she had with her knee and yeah for her to just kind of found the role and just shine through it and it's no easy feat taking over from Sam Monaghan and Tricky Adele McMahon in that but like she had them with her I know along the course of the journey and Sam in particular a lot along with a good senior leadership group who have helped her so she'd I'm sure she'd credit a lot to them but now it's fantastic to see her take to it like a duck to water so it's great
to put your best foot forward at the best of times, but I'm sure that was at the back of her mind, you know, that this was the first kind of real tough campaign.
Like she had dipped her toe back into it during Celtic challenge, which obviously is not the same standard.
So she would have been hoping to, to be able to, to do the business.
And like, as you said, like to play every minute of every match, she's very much back, back and back in business.
Yeah, I think like you mentioned this in the sense of the high scoring nature that we had for our three home matches, which is obviously brilliant.
I think the next level up for this team, you know, rolling into the next tournament is going to be very, very interesting because it's the year where we have the three away fixtures.
So from the performance point of view, can we back up what we've done this year and do it away?
against teams who were bruised and battered and Italy being the less so of those teams, but still wouldn't be happy with how they did.
