I'm the eldest of four.
So I can't speak for the other kids because they're going their own way about things, which is more than fine.
But for me, I experienced, you know,
physical abuse, emotional abuse, mental abuse, all those things.
He was a very violent man.
He would come through the house like a hurricane most of the time.
I talk about it in the book.
This notion of I wasn't good enough because I was into acting and art and, you know, I was sort of that sort of kid.
And I remember my father on Fury one time, like he would throw his full weight onto my neck and I wouldn't be able to breathe sometimes.
He catapulted a fork across the room.
It landed in my eye and...
So there was a myriad of things where it was a very violent household.
And it was like stepping on, you know, it was like you were in a minefield, essentially.
Well, yeah.
And it's also, it's a phenomenon.
So we hear about flight and fight all the time.
But there's this other phenomenon called fawning.
And I was constantly fawning, which is where you retreat into yourself and sort of cater to the adults around you or the people around you, I should say.
