What I experienced, the violence that I experienced, and I want to remind you as well, by this point, my dad had already become violent again.
Yeah.
So like, that feeling of, oh, my dad's strange, that went away very quickly.
But...
Oh, I can't recall.
I'd get screamed at and called a poof and, you know, an idiot every day or, you know, he'd throw me about or hit me or whatever.
Like it was, it was.
just back to usual how it was when i was a kid um you were still a kid i still was a kid you still were a kid yeah but the thing is well the the violence that i experienced in my household as a younger boy primed me for the sexual abuse and my parents divorce primed me for my stepmother to interject and groom me because
As a kid, you know, I felt as though I needed to take a side in my parents' divorce.
When my dad's telling me my mother's the worst in the world and my mum's, you know, going through this violence and expressing frustration at my father.
You know, one day I think he's not a great dad.
The next day I think my mother's awful.
And it's this pendulum and there's no middle ground where I can hold both truths at one time because different messaging is coming to me all the time.
And I felt as though I had to be absolutist in choosing which side I was on.
So when I moved in with my dad, I cut my mother off.
And that's why my mother didn't say so much to this for so long.
You know, my biological mother, I mean.
It was very minimal during this period of time.
And, you know, I would just constantly cut her off as well.
