Dave Gorman did it for a bit and Richard Herring did it for a bit.
Chris Addison did it for a bit, but they weren't.
You know, they were always out.
They kept the best gags for themselves and they're working every night.
Oh, well, I think it was Gary Bushell.
Remember Gary Bushell?
I do, yeah.
So bizarrely, he was a fan of mine, oddly, from the early old Channel 4 show, you know, kind of weirdly.
And when he visited the TV page in town, when he went on holiday, he asked me to cover for him.
obviously yes like for like yeah very odd just very odd because I mean literally that was that I had that little Channel 4 show then and I so I did that and it was really good fun you know I kind of did a similar thing I watched these shows you know I mean to give those tabloid TV critics
you know, some credit.
You know, the broadsheets, they just cover, like, one show, then they, you know, two shows.
But those tabloid guys, they do, like, Ali Ross, whatever, they do, like, and they've got to do the big show, they've got to do EastEnders, they've got to do Holby, they've got to do whatever, Masked Singer, all this sort of big stuff.
And they've got to do lots, it's lots of, it's very gag-oriented.
So I did that, I did it three or four times.
And I used to look forward to Gary's holidays more than he did because it was good money.
Yeah, it was good money.
Yeah, I think it was about 1,200 quid.
Yeah, I remember spotting that.
I used to cover X Factor and Popeye and all this.
