I remember David Quantic coming in and saying, oh yeah, I found a rockery on Emmerdale that looks like a man's face.

Sure.

He plays the clip and it's got a nose and it's got teeth.

It hasn't got any eyes.

I'm saying, where's the eyes?

Around this stuff, at the end of the meeting, all the writers get up and go.

I remember one saying, yeah, I didn't get much this week.

Yeah, I've always wanted to.

I've never really done anything where I've just, I mean, in the early days, I used to write for radio.

where you could just, you know, there's something nice about being a writer, isn't there?

It's amazing.

I learned early on not to hire comics to write for it.
