That's gonna be really hard.

And it's also awkward.

Like uh usually those brokers are kind of a bad team, are they really g really gonna trade for a guy and and then play him for a couple of months and then trade him again?

Uh I think that would be very unlikely.

So I think we've kinda ended double retention with that.

Yeah, so um in the previous C VAs uh a player and a team could agree that part of their pay would come after the the term of the contract.

So if a contract has eight years, they could agree that a portion that was earned in a particular year would be paid out at some point after that.

Um so Jarvis is one, the the most recent one would be John Tavares of Toronto, he deferred quite a bit of money.

And because the player

is taking the money later.

Um if you think about you know the how money the time value of money and and how you could earn interest on your money.

Because they're taking some of the money later after the contract, the way that the cap it is calculated is actually like the it's discounted or reduced.

So you're basically the cap it is based on the present value or what the money is worth over the term of the co when the con when the money's earned when the instead of when it actually gets

paid.

Um this change is eliminating it.

And we really we I think the first one was Shane Don like many, many years ago.

Then for many years we didn't see any of them.

And then Carolina did a a couple of them uh and Toronto did a couple of them with McCabe and Tavaro.

So we haven't seen that many.

And uh really the benefit in order for the team to have a really reduced capit, they'd have to push the money really far out and it's pretty unlikely that players would agree to it.
