GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

Um, but if I'm not mistaken, didn't someone, didn't someone at Subaru try to do the same thing with a wire and able, able to unlock the door?

So after, yeah, my understanding is that after, originally they couldn't and they said it was impossible.

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

David said, no, no bullshit.

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

You can do it.

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

You need to do it this way or that way.

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

And then after his instruction of how to do it with some difficulty, they were able to eventually do it to prove that it is possible.

GUILT

But I found it interesting listening to Colin Matthews, the detective telling his story, you know, and I mean, this is just,

his story after all these years, and I hadn't seen this reported anywhere, but where he talks about they take David Tamahiti, this is in the very, very early stage, they take him up Terry Creek Road and then they take him to the panel shop or whatever where the actual car is.

And as he's walking over to it, Colin Matthews described that he felt like Tamahiti was going to walk over confidently to show, expecting like it to be a classic lift up.

thing and then he gets there and realizes that it's different and what colin matthews was saying is that it's kind of um that sort of provided him potentially with the opportunity to realize like shit i'm gonna have to come up with a story about how i got this open um you know then he can go back to his cell while he's waiting before he's ever had having to prove how he did it

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

there's time there for him to actually figure out a plan, potentially.

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

I think that's kind of what Colin Matthews was sort of saying.

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

I found that kind of interesting.

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

I mean, you know, detectives are always like, they're going to tell their version of a story that might help, you know, their side of things.

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

So, you know, you take it with a grain of salt sometimes.

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

But yeah, I did find that interesting.

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

But just to kind of refresh the timeline here, this is before he actually makes contact with the Swedes, correct?

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

When he happens upon the vehicle?

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

Well, I mean, what he's saying is that he never met the Swedes, right?

GUILT
S3 | E1-3 | The Debrief with Ryan Wolf and Jacob Saffle

So he's just saying that he probably never met the Swedes.
