And you could sort of see that, that there was this community of people there that were really interested in this case.
Because I think at this point I'd released a trailer and that trailer had...
had basically brought people out of the woodwork.
But yeah, that first day, you know, going there and then with Alan, we went around and we started visiting these places like Tauru Creek Road, you know, going up Parakawai and these areas.
It was a bit of an eye-opener in terms of what I was dealing with, in terms of the bush.
I know bush in New Zealand, but to actually go out there and say, okay, these are the places we're talking about, and you realize the challenge of it, but then also the beauty of it as well.
I mean, the bush has a โ it is beautiful too, but it's got that kind of foreboding presence as well.
And Alan had been involved in the case ahead of time, correct?
Fill that in for me a little bit.
I know that he had had a lot to do with it, if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, so Alan, he was kind of, you know, like what happens with cases is that a person could have sort of not much to do with the case and then somehow they get kind of thrust into it or they get some little touch of it and then it just infects them.
And this sort of happened with Alan because he was working in sort of forestry
So he's up in a forestry block just north of Whangamata, and he finds a bag with clothes in it, sort of half buried in the ground kind of thing.
And when he opens the bag, he's familiar with the Swede case.
He sort of thinks that some of the items in the bag may fit clothing that he's aware that Heidi had.
So he takes this bag to the police.
And the police say, okay, thank you.
We'll check this out.
We'll let you know once we've
once we've looked at this, we'll let you know what we've decided and if it's relevant.
