And then he says, can I have the clothing back when you're done?

And they said, yeah, not a problem.

So he hasn't heard anything.

And then, you know, a couple months later or something, he goes to the police and he says, hey, what happened with the clothing?

And they say, oh yeah, no, it's not relevant.

It's too new.

And he says, oh, okay, well, can I get it back?

And they said, oh no, we destroyed it.

And so, you know, immediately he was like,

shit like what and then kind of set his alarm bells off and then it was kind of from that day on he just became very obsessed with the case and himself he had spent countless hours out searching through the bush you know trying to find Heidi so this you know so

He had had his own ideas about David Tamahere's guilt.

He 100% believed David Tamahere was responsible.

And, you know, he was just sort of had his own version of the story.

But he was a great way for me to come in.

He helped show me some key locations and some key points to get started.

And then I kind of went off from there.

But, you know, Alan, he's just one example of so many people that have their little connection to this case.

And it's just kind of never left them.
