Just a really cool thing to do over the holidays.
And Audible has kind of taken a swing at this because I don't think they're looking to sell a ton of copies.
They're looking to get more subscribers to Audible by getting people to try out audiobooks for the first time.
It's interesting because if this is going to be your first audiobook, you're kind of getting an unfair expectation of what audiobook products are, right?
With like a full cast production, incredible production values.
That's not what audiobooks are most of the time.
And they've spent tons of money promoting these things, popping up installations in...
airports and buses and public places in a lot of big cities around the world like new york london and toronto where people can just go in like these little pods and experience clips from the audiobooks like with like really cool speakers um it's been a whole phenomenon and they've generally been well received although read i don't know if you've read these before
I don't know if you've listened to the full cast audiobook production yet, but a lot of people say that they can be kind of hard to understand because there's so much going on with sound effects and things happening in the background.
Sometimes there's multiple things happening at a time.
You can picture the three main characters speaking in the common room and then there's a bunch of kids talking in the background.
It can be a lot going on, but there are two types of people.
People who find it extremely immersive and people who find it really hard to listen to.
And I'm really interested to hear if there are listeners that want to write into the show with their feedback at audiobookcafeatami.ca.
Because you really don't, it's hard to get a grasp as to why it feels like it's a binary.
You do or you don't.
It's one of the most interesting parts of this book.
But I personally love the hell out of these.
It's even like it's also just the Harry Potter franchise, which sells itself.
They did not need to go this hard on the production, but they did.
