And, you know, the charge that they're also monopoly, they've created a kind of closed garden that has created a kind of monopoly on the services that we use through Apple.
Google faces two separate antitrust cases, one about monopolizing search, the other one about monopolizing the online ad business.
Both of those seem to be planning to go forward.
And Amazon also is facing a trial all about dominating smaller merchants and
doing away with their ability to compete fairly in an open market.
So even though you would think that it is a very pro-business regime, the Trump administration is a very pro-business administration, they are also, it turns out, pretty hostile when it comes to big tech.
And both Andrew Ferguson and the DOJ official who's in charge of antitrust, they're both thinking very strongly, they say, about looking at big tech, wanting to basically take a close look in the
case of Andrew Ferguson and a lot of Senate Republicans, they're talking about the kind of thing that they've talked about for a long time, which is the idea that somehow social media has been stifling conservative voices.
Now, independent studies have shown that that is not really the case, but that seems to be their motivation.
So they're upset about the censoring of conservative voices.
That seems to be their concern.
But what it is all leading to is a world in which even though we've seen Mark Zuckerberg, you know, personally trying to convince Trump to dismiss this lawsuit and, you know, Meta giving a million dollars to the Trump inaugural fund, you know, Mark Zuckerberg showing up on the dais at the inauguration.
Right.
And Zuckerberg going through an immense process.
effort to try to appease the Trump administration by doing away with all sorts of content moderation strategies, getting rid of any sort of diversity and equity and inclusion efforts, including doing away with the executives that were in charge of that.
