Now it's changed.

That whole dynamic's changed.

As soon as you don't pick a play, he looks for an overseas contract.

If you put heat on him because he's now managing himself, then you've lost him because your people skills aren't as good as they should be or whatever the story is.

And so the art or the skill or the dynamic of being a provincial coach is very different now.

Very, very different to what it was in the old days.

You know, your provincial coach, I think it would have been Michael Chekka or Dick Lewis, Michael Chekka.

I mean, you knew exactly where you stood with him.

You didn't play well.

You didn't get picked.

You didn't get picked.

You didn't go to Ireland.

And so I just feel, again, as I said, what we need back is that base back in South Africa.

We need those.

You want to play Champions Cup, you've got to come back to South Africa.

You've got to play well.

You've got to be a springbok.

You've got to give while you're at your best, Bernard.

I'm talking about in the peak of your career to your province.

Not come back when you've had two kids overseas and now you're saying, I think I need to give back to my country.
