It means treating your body like an engine that needs to be nourished and cared for.
And I don't say bad things about my body in the mirror anymore.
And I don't treat it with the disdain that we have been trained.
We've been trained to teach our bodies like they are some sort of disobedient disgrace.
But also again, your body wasn't allowed to be your own in such a formative period of time.
And I'm super disconnected from my body, but that's why I think I had to do EM.
I wouldn't have thought that.
No, but that's why I have to personify it.
I have to look at it as this separate being that I've been gifted the privilege of looking after because I can't feel it.
So I've learned to intellectualize it and go โ
If this was someone else's body, if this was the body of my best friend and she gave it to me to look after, what would I do for it?
I would be gentle with it.
I would think about its hormones and how to honor those hormones.
And I would think about its cycle and its needs and what it needs to eat today.
