A lot of places now impose restrictions for young people to be at.

I have a uh eighteen year old sister who I just asked recently, what does she do for fun?

And the only place she a was able to say was South Park because everywhere else um is for folks that are twenty-one and up.

And during the World Cup I had family visiting from Colombia, which by the way, Colombia's in my thoughts and prayers today after the earthquake that they experienced.

And

And we couldn't watch a World Cup game because a lot of our bars and restaurants impose 21 and up restrictions, right?

And so, intentionally or unintentionally, um, our policy decisions and the business environment that we've created has made this city, in my belief, unsustainable for younger people uh to really thrive in and get involved in.

Um so I and I take the recent youth take.

covers and safety concerns seriously.

Uh but I do believe we should target harmful conduct, not make

simply being young and outside after nine p.m.

grounds for police intervention.

I think the proposal right now as it stands would impose uh the nine p.m.

court fee on everyone under eighteen.

And I do think that's extremely uh a broad response to incidents involving a much uh smaller number of incidents.

We we heard just now six incidents, right?
