So that is a lot of accommodating for...

a very good hitter and a very big question mark sort of at all the other tools in Luis Arise and of course they can make late game substitutions and give guys days off to have better defenses and you know maybe they'll make tweaks like when Christopher Sanchez is pitching go with a better defensive infield but

I mean, that is a big-time dart throw that if you're David Dombrowski, you sort of really need to work because the Phillies pretty consistently have a fairly top-heavy farm system that if you want any player of note, you have to trade from the top end, which they just did.

So it'll be interesting to see how that works out and how long this sort of experiment lasts before they maybe try to undo some of this.

Yeah, I mean, there's nothing sexy about Luis Castillo, Oscar Brazoban, and Brenton Doyle, which was just reported like 10 minutes ago that they're getting in from the Rockies to play center field, at least against lefties, I would assume.

But those are good floor-raising moves.

Those are checking off boxes for them that do not, you know, decimate that farm system in the slightest in hopes of, you know, going all in for 2026.

I think they're good measured moves that, you know,

Depending on who you ask and what you read, maybe they gave up a little bit too much in some of these deals, but they're keeping the top of that really deep farm system intact instead of saying, oh, we believe that we can just have an awesome two months, get a buy, win the World Series, parade in Chicago, all that.

It's a good soft buy, I would call it.

Yeah, that and the winter meetings.

It's just so much stuff going on.

And I know that people don't like when the draft is right now because it sort of gets lost in the shuffle of everything.

And as someone who is juggling the draft along with all the other things, I totally get that.

But...

It's sort of like the fire hose of stuff happening starting now with the draft Saturday, even though it's during a bunch of other games that I also have to juggle watching and following with the draft.

But yeah, I mean, this is by far the craziest time of the year, and I'm really looking forward to it.
