And my brain still goes to alcohol quite quickly because that path is very well trodden between I feel sad, I feel lonely, I feel excited, I feel tired, I feel bored.
You know, go to alcohol.
That path will always be quite well trodden.
And because it's easy.
Yeah, yeah.
But now I've got these 12 other routes and maybe one of them you can only just make out amongst the grass.
There's these few indentations.
And over time, the more you go down those other routes, the more the brain associates that.
Like it goes, oh, I think you need to get out for a run or I think you need to meditate.
I think you need to call someone.
I think you need to write about this.
I think you need to get out into the woodland and just look at a tree.
All of these things come before alcohol.
In my sort of coping process now.
A mixture really.
I realized I need, and lots of things taught me this, but I realized I needed other places to go in my head.
And the way I see it now, all of those things, exercise, meditation, meetings.
That would mean for a couple of years it was CrossFit, but the minute it's running.
The reason I started running is because it's very similar to meditation.
It's sitting in discomfort or running in discomfort.
