Yeah, but I like the mental side of it.
So my thoughts start to get negative when I'm running just as the same as I might do when I'm meditating.
This is boring.
I can't do this.
You've got to stop.
You should have been doing this since you were 15.
Why haven't you done your strength training this week?
Why haven't you done this this week?
You know, all of those thoughts.
And I have realized I have options.
I have places to go.
I can observe those thoughts without identifying with them.
So I'm not a piece of shit.
There's just a thought which is going, you're a piece of shit.
And I can go, oh, hello.
It's you.
That's funny that you're back.
I'm going to come back to you in a kilometer's time.
Or if I'm meditating, I'm just going to let you go and I'm going to move on to the next thought because you don't have any more value than my heart beating or my stomach rumbling.
And my therapy, which I have, is based around mindfulness and a lot of Buddhism.
