I'm literally nothing.
And I feel furthest from a drink when I'm in tune with that nothingness.
You know, just... I quite often like... If people are ever...
When someone says meditation, people are often like, what do you mean?
For me now, I've been on a silent retreat.
I've done quite structured meditation.
What I mean now for me is going into some area of greenery
and breathing and noticing that breath and being aware of my surroundings or being on a tube coming into london or getting stressed in a busy place and noticing my breathing and that's what i mean by it
When I'm in that place, especially out in the woodland or the fields or footpath or whatever, and I take like 10 minutes to just notice my breath, I am disappearing.
And that's as far away from a drink as I ever am.
Do you know what I mean?
So that's all I can really describe it as.
So I don't really need to know myself, I suppose.
I mean, I know what I'm like and I know what I can be like and I know when I'm being a pain.
So it's important to have those knowledge of like your bad habits or your behaviours which you're trying to act against.
But I don't need to have this sort of fixed version of me.
It's about what alcohol means.
And I've read quite a few books about alcohol and stopping drinking and being sober and have got a lot from all of them.
