You know, people called it the wild, wild west, but it was, I mean, it was run by criminals.

I mean, that's just what was going on there then.

And

Yeah.

You know, living in this tiny little place with four other people.

I slept on the floor.

We turned the lights on.

You know, the cockroaches would go everywhere.

You'd feel them climbing over you all at night.

The buildings had curfews.

So, you know, you could only get in and out at certain times.

And then if you needed to get out, you know, you'd throw the fire hose down and you'd rappel down out of the windows.

I mean, it was a wild place in a wild time.

Yeah.

but the most alive, the most impactful time of my life, without a doubt.

Yeah, I mean, I've spoken about it before.

You know, I think that that was sort of the tail end of all of the walls that I had walked into.

There are so many times that, you know, I should have learned my lesson.

And I think for a while there, I believe that kind of my wildness, I think I suffered from something that a lot of young artists suffer from, where I thought that sort of my wildness and that reckless abandon that I talked to you about before...

That I thought that I needed to hang on to that in order now to be a good artist.
