I don't think they're going to trade for Jordan Alvarez tomorrow.
And by the way, based on the comments that Dana Brown has made this week to Brian McTaggart at MLB.com, it sounds like Alvarez isn't going anywhere.
At least that's what they're saying right now, for now, for now.
But I do think that if you look around the major leagues, getting a bat, one more bat for them, whether it's a DH type, an outfielder, again, it's not urgent because until the Jays really close the gap in a meaningful way,
If the Yankees finish second to the Rays, which probably you'd say there's a decent chance of that happening, still a playoff team.
They still have a very good path to the postseason.
And their pitching has gotten better since Cole has come back.
So, yes, I realize they're not in an optimal situation.
Wells on the IL, Stanton's already there.
So they may get a bat, but I don't think it's going to be a significant one.
right now.
They may wait until later on in July.
And remember, the trade deadline is not until August 3rd.
June 9 to August 3rd is an eternity in baseball.
So many things are going to happen.
It's the latest trade deadline we've had in a normal year that I can remember.
And so there's just so much baseball to be played from now until then.
There might be some teams that are in urgent situations right now.
I just don't think the Yankees with a bat are one of them that they've got Schumann has come in and he's played a lot recently.
So I think they're probably going to be OK with their current core until and unless the AL playoff picture really changes dramatically.
