Does that corrupt him or was that always the aim?

I mean, I don't know if this is entirely fair, but

But the person he reminds me of, oddly, and I think it's legally okay to say it, but if you look back at the coup against Salvador Allende in Chile in 1973, one of the reasons that the general who was chosen to succeed him was Pinochet, was Pinochet was seen as just, oh, he's a boring guy who counts paperclips, he'll be fine.

He won't build a cult of personality around him.

That's just not who he is.

And then he gets in that office and,

And suddenly he becomes one of the most evil men of the 20th century.

Now, was that always present?

Was he hiding that behind the careful accountancy?

And, you know, I run my office very well.

Or was it the sniff of power burned him?

And again, with Infantino, was he this sort of cuddly figure who did the Champions League draw?

Or was he always this megalomaniac in waiting?

And I don't know.

I'd love to know.

I think some of the stuff he's said in the last six, seven years is pretty hard to see that coming out of the mouth of a decent bloke at any point in their life.

No, I mean, FIFA itself needs a massive reform.

And to an extent, it doesn't really matter who the next president is because...

These issues are, even if the next president is some sort of saintly figure who holds out against this, well, who comes next?
