I'll be happy to say it was not you.

But I'm not going to point out, Mayor Pro Tem, who it was.

And the reason I'm saying this is because we are not a city with shovel-ready sites.

In the space of shovel-ready sites in the world of economic development, we are now entering the game where we are going to say, not just to the region, but to the rest of the country, that we now have sites where we can compete for resources, for jobs.

So I just wanted to say that because

Fundamentally, when we started down this road, it was really about, you know, having the ability to compete because we know we're losing some of our traction to other suburban areas.

But I just wanted to put that point out there because beyond the financial numbers from a physical presence, it gives us arguably one of the best sites, if not the best site in the state of Texas.

Is that a good thing, that we own all the roads?

Those are revenue generating projects that's going to help the tax base.

Those are projects that will communicate and show that we are what we say we are.

So in the mayor's resolution, description of the economic development strategy, it's all basically aligned.

So I think the things you're going to see coming forward related to how we strengthen small businesses, how do we create, do more with less in terms of supporting a stronger small business infrastructure.

How we get more specific about the types of, or what our focus would be to grow the economy.

And the interesting thing about this is, if you are to do true economic development, you need to lead with a signal.

I would argue that given the regional competition, given the national competition, we can't rest on our laurels, to be honest with you.

And I think in the final analysis, Dog's Head sets us up for that type of competitive advantage that I think we need.
