Hostile winds in the upper atmosphere tend to kind of shear any thunderstorms apart that may be trying to get going.

It's kind of the seedlings of a tropical system that we watch.

And you can see that on our forecast model here.

And we have that overhead in the Gulf.

And this is gonna stay in place right through the upcoming weekend as we look at the wider view over portions of the Atlantic basin.

So this time of the year, July 17th, as we approach, we should typically see our second name system, but we just don't have that on the map.

So everything is kind of working out when it comes to the El Nino that we've been mentioning, giving us below average.

So the looking at the names here, we're only dealing with Arthur right now and of course Bertha, the next name on the list.

the Atlantic basin.

However, when it comes to the Pacific Basin, you get a whole different set of names and numbers and a list out there.
