Uh, I think that's really the biggest takeaway.
And as meteorologists, we always kind of hammer that home, regardless of what you see on your screen with the forecast numbers that are relatively low given the El Nino effect that is uh taking place.
It only takes one.
We should be prepared.
Now is the time to get prepared while there is nothing on the map to contend with and
Uh as we look back
Hurricane Michael was the last uh category five storm to make landfall here in the US.
And it was a devastating storm in the panhandle of our state, which did occur in an El Nino year.
Yeah, this is uh very typical for this time of year.
Early in the season, we have these fronts that will work their way to the south and get kind of stuck in the mud, if you will.
They become stationary.
That's the way we have that drawn on the map.
And that's simply due to the the time of the year.
You have fronts that are uh working their way to the south due to
Uh the seasons changing and as the cooler air tries to battle the warmer air down south in the early portion of summer here, fronts can still work their way uh towards the northern portion of the state of Florida in the Gulf and just offshore from the uh Carolinas.
And that's this type of scenario that we're looking at right now.
