Well the water temperatures uh play a big role in the general uh air masses and just environmental conditions that that uh Europe experiences.

Gulf stream is very important.

Yeah, that's right.

We use that term quite a bit.

Uh typically when we see a system develop out over the open waters of the uh Atlantic and it moves away, not harming anyone, just bothering the fish out there.

And that's the term uh that we use so frequently.

And here in Florida, uh a lot of folks hear that and they just kind of write it off, like, Oh, we don't have to be concerned with that.

So it's a it's a term you wanna be cautious about, especially if there is uh kind of a homegrown system.

And that's another phrase that we use quite a bit with these tropical systems that get going closer to home, meaning the southeast coast of the United States.

So this is the time of the year we typically do see that.

And again, you can see the areas of development in July, again, over the Gulf waters, offshore from the Carolinas.

And then we're starting to begin to look later in the portion of the month out towards the Caribbean.

sea and eventually we'll look further out into the Atlantic as things will get going over the main development region as we head into August and September.

But right now that area is uh looking pretty good due to the Saharan air layer.

Big plume of Saharan dust is moving off the African continent, which tends to suppress tropical development because of two two things.

The air is dry.

One thing it's dusty air.

And then that dust can be so thick it can tend to blot out some of the sunshine and lowering the water temperatures over the main development region.
