And right now they are slightly below average out there.

All bodes well.

We also have the El Nino uh underway now and only forecast to intensify over the next couple of months.

That gives us strong upper level wind shear over the main development region as well.

So things point towards a below average season.

But I always caution everyone, even I say all these statistics scientifically, but it only takes one storm.

We look back to 1992.

We saw that with Hurricane Andrew.

The storm itself.

uh did make landfall in South Florida just at the tail end of the technical El Nino, but it was an El Nino year.

So it just goes to show you that i you you can still see a a very strong and intense hurricane even in an El Nino year.

And we all have to be prepared for that.

So that's the takeaway there.

Yes, because the the the way the upper level jet stream uh is blowing, uh the the shear is focused over that main development region, leaving some of those subtropical latitudes with lesser amounts of shear.

So we'll be watching that closely.

And should something develop close to home, again if the environmental conditions are correct, water temperatures are certainly warm enough to support a strengthening system.

So certainly gonna be

interesting guys over the next uh couple of months to watch close to home, I do believe.
