Of course.

So my name is Katie Brown.

I live in Buffalo, New York, and my practice is called Neuro Speech Solutions.

So the early days of Katie the SLP, I worked for a contract company.

So I was kind of all over the place, which was good because I was able to get experience in a lot of different settings.

So I worked in several skilled nursing facilities.

I did home health.

I did a little bit of acute care as well and outpatient too.

So I really was able to see

a lot of different populations across the continuum of care, which I feel like was an asset as far as learning, you know, in my early days as a speech pathologist.

So I knew from when I was in grad school that I wanted to start a private practice.

I've always wanted to be my own boss.

That was just something that I always thought I would love to do.

But I didn't think it would be as early in my career as it actually ended up being.

I thought that, you know, it would be 10 years down the road, something like that.

And it turned out to be only three years in.
