It's actually 10,365 cars.
And there's lots of people that are also complaining about other issues.
So one reader that we had get in touch, Abid Hussain, £43,000 Volvo EX30.
Got it in May 2024.
Got it on finance.
The problem started in October 2025 when, locked out of the vehicle, Keith stopped working, leaving his wife stranded 20 miles from home.
And they've been locked out of the car on four separate occasions since, despite local Volvo dealership investigating the issue.
And then got that letter in December saying, don't charge your car over 70% and don't charge it unattended.
You instantly probably go, I just want to get this car back.
Absolutely right.
I've had enough of this car.
I want to get out of my finance agreement.
No, exactly.
And it's a horrible thing.
Basically, yeah, you've got the car on a flexible car finance loan that you're paying every month, but you expect a certain degree of kind of, you've been promised one thing, you know, 280 mile car, car that's probably not going to lock you out of it.
And then what you're actually getting is something completely different.
And other people have got in touch as well, you know, how it's really hit their lives.
So someone, a retiree, Stephen Surgeon, who is in Rochdale, regularly visits Lake District with his wife.
But the 70 mile drive, he's having to sometimes charge the car twice on that route.
And he's got so fed up with it.
