And I mean, it's no surprise that

that the area that's going to be hit the hardest is London and the southeast, you know, particularly, you know, commuter belt areas as well.

So constituencies like Esher and Walton in Surrey, Twickenham in southwest London, Harpenden, Berkhamstead in Hertfordshire, we'd see almost 2,000 more homes caught in a net if Burnham was to lower the threshold.

But even in Mr. Burnham's beloved Greater Manchester area,

With that £1.5 million threshold, there'll be 2,400 homes in the area that have to pay the tax, mostly in Altrincham and the South West constituency where there's some very nice houses.

And that's the thing.

It's not really a mansion tax.

It's more of a kind of tax on people that have bought themselves a nice house.

And let's not forget, on a £1.5 million house, if you want to go and buy a £1.5 million house, you're talking about a £93,750 stamp duty bill before you even get started.

So is that not enough?

Is that not enough tax and one off it?

And listen, I understand there are people that have been in their homes for 20, 30, 40 years that potentially haven't moved.

And their house price growth has probably gone through the roof.

They're not necessarily rich, though.

They might have just bought a house that they wanted to live in at the time.

And it just so happens that they bought in an area that's like really boomed.

facing up to these extra charges.

There's a lot of what ifs.

There's a lot of kind of things about this.

I think once this gets closer to the time, I think there's going to be an enhanced fight back from people.
