So that's the EPA and the DHA, particularly helpful for hormone balance.
And when you talk about things that can help with libido, there are some interesting supplements that are considered helpful.
So maca root, for example, that's a plant traditionally used to help support sexual desire and energy levels, particularly for women.
Ashwagandha, one of my favourites, actually, that's an adaptogenic herb that can also help to reduce stress as well as supporting hormonal balance.
So ashwagandha could be useful.
But significantly, things like the omega-3s, those fish oil fatty acids, really good for circulation, brain health, as well as all important hormone signalling.
And then you might like to look wider at some of the physical issues.
So for some women, libido drops partly because of vaginal dryness or discomfort, which can definitely begin or worsen in perimenopause.
And really simple measures like oestrogen, pessaries or creams.
And you can get these prescribed by a doctor or you can get them from pharmacists as well over the counter.
They can make a significant difference and they're considered extremely safe to take.
They're localised, they just stay within the vaginal cavity and it can honestly be a game changer for so many.
And also helping to reduce the reoccurrence of things like UTIs and helping with bladder health.
So I think just to conclude here, low libido, Emma, during perimenopause, super common.
We know it's caused or linked definitely to shifting hormone levels, our sleep disruption and just generally the pressures that women have in midlife.
HRT, it can definitely help with symptoms, doesn't necessarily cause weight gain, but I think you need to look at it alongside other options such as prioritising your sleep, stress management, etc.,
because they all play a pivotal role in supporting our sexual well-being.
And I do hope that is helpful for you.
Well, stay right where you are, because after this short break, I'm going to be sharing my thoughts on NAD and berberine and whether they work well together, as well as celiac disease, and whether we should all be thinking more about vibrational energy when it comes to our daily routines.
