I mean, we have to understand that the colorism here and that the many things woven into the fabric of how we grew up in America are gonna affect these biases.
Well, we absolutely need to understand the frameworks for policing from all perspectives.
So we've looked at broken window policies in detail.
We've looked at abolition policy in detail.
We need to be able to understand where folks are coming from and have a dynamic approach to diagnosing the problems.
We brought in a lot of perspectives here.
We brought in some law enforcement perspective, really from the constitutional civil rights perspective that is so critical to American policing.
And we brought in a lot of research from everywhere else we could get to try to diagnose what exactly this is.
Yeah, let me give you an example.
We both investigated very serious cases, folks dying and death.
But I'll say here's a horrible case.
A man goes to a block party.
He acts as a peacekeeper between cops and a crowd of individuals.
He ultimately is tased, knocked unconscious.
His head is slammed into the ground, ground into the ground.
And as he is unconscious, an officer yells the N-word at him over and over again.
Now, where was that in New York?
Yeah, it's in the Bronx.
There's so many stories you never hear about.
It's stunning.
