My mom was a teacher for many, many years and talks a lot about how just being an adult that kids knew they could talk to can help them get out of a lot of systems in a lot less complicated ways of just like, oh, you don't like going home after school because of X, Y, or Z reason?
We're going to sign you up for a bunch of clubs.
Like there's so many ways you don't have to have these giant intervening sweeping things of just like, oh, you have a parent who maybe is not the kindest when they get off of work because they've had a 12 hour shift.
How do we make it so that you can spend more time at school so that you get home and maybe that situation has gotten less intense?
Yeah.
Right.
But I always think about like early intervention could prevent so much of what we talk about on this show.

And it is like, I think that's part of what I find to be important about the work we do is that education of what are the signs?
What are the red flags you should be looking for?
Because then if you see that as a person in a child's community, you can be like, hey, I see you have to go to the doctor all the time.
I'm happy to come with you.
Right.
how are ways you can start inserting yourself into the community around you to help prevent these things from happening or like escalating to points of extremism?
And I realized like, yes, of course, this is all like dreaming and it's beautiful and everyone has all the time in the world.
And like, that's the world I'd like to live in.
But yeah, it is tough when you talk about the extreme parts of this case and of these cases.
