There's that huge news, yeah.

We kind of talked about that, that if you were somebody who was on your own, older, more vulnerable maybe, you'd have been tempted to just go and drive off a cliff or something.

It was just awful.

It was so bleak.

Absolutely.

That's how it felt that if we don't do something ourselves, they're not really trying to save him.

They're just trying to prolong his life.

And for him and for me, that wasn't enough.

We needed a solution if it was at all possible.

And James became kind of chatty.

He asked on these chat groups if anyone was in Ireland.

And from that, they kind of set up a Facebook support group, first of all, for Irish patients and carers, families.

It's one of those cancers that you just have so many questions and there are very few answers.

One of the things that the doctor got him to do at that time was to get the genes, sorry, the biomarker testing is what it's called.

So they test the cancer.

Each type of cancer has its own kind of genetic makeup.

And the doctor told us there is a very, very small chance that you could have a type that is responsive to immunotherapy.

And we sort of just put that out of our heads because we thought we can't just go off a tiny percentage.

We have to find something better.

We got a phone call a few days later to say that he actually was part of that amazing, very unusual.
