So he rallied a bit over the next few days and he started to improve a good bit.

And he was able to kind of go for short walks with me around the hospice.

He'd come down and watch me have a cup of tea in the canteen or something.

We kind of became part of the furniture of the hospice.

And James was so up and down.

Sometimes we felt like, God, is he actually sick enough to be here?

So we were there for ages and he had he had an infection maybe after about two weeks.

And that was that seemed very serious.

He had very high temperatures, a lot of pain, and he had to have drugs to kind of put him let him sleep a bit more so that he wouldn't be so nauseous and in pain.

And they said to me, look, Marion, this is it's very likely that this infection might be the end for James, you know, but we're very aware that he wants to fight with every step.

So we are going to give him antibiotics.

So they did that and he recovered from that infection.

And that happened again.

A few weeks later, he got another infection again, thought it was going to be it, recovered again.

So a few nights later, he'd be sitting down in the canteen with me, having a little bite of my Chinese or whatever I had gotten delivered.

And they joked about him being Lazarus or something.

They said, you just keep going, don't you?

His determination was absolutely getting him through.

He was not giving up at all.

And the hospice allowed us to have a few nights at home sometimes.
