So it's interesting.
And I think there are people who know me and know my work who might think, oh, is that hypocritical?
Because this is the girl whose mom gets sick with breast cancer, and she starts the breast cancer charity.
And then mom dies.
And a decade later, she's writing a book about her and the terrible pregnancy loss that she also encountered.
And then
Girl gets long COVID and now she's a long COVID advocate.
You know, like what what is she talking about?
Make it make sense.
And the thing that I will say about myself is after just like a lot of reflection and thoughtfulness, I've come to realize two things.
One for me.
When it comes to healing, I have a bias toward action.
Whether the action is going to EMDR therapy, which I started last year, or starting a charity or a new project to try and help solve a social problem.
And every time I look at the things that I have done when I've been in pain, they've also been rooted in anger, honestly.
Not in a desire to make meaning, but in a deep rage.
You know, most recently when I got sick, I recognized immediately not only how horrible it was to be in pain every day and, you know, to have long COVID and be suddenly disabled and this and that, but I realized how much worse it must be for so many other people.
You know, I have I have economic privilege.
I have health system privilege.
You know, I think about all the things I had to learn when my mom was sick.
My husband works in public health.
