letting people know going to the colleges going to even the high schools like I don't know what happened to candy stripers or whatever but I think that getting them to read and things of that nature that's something that we could also look into as a matter of fact we spend so much money on researching other projects why can't we put invest some money

into researching what it would take for this specific area of boosting volunteers.

And I know that it's probably going to say, well, we need to have some kind of stipend or pay of some kind because we're also living in a different area.

And the people that can afford to do it may not be interested.

And those who really want to do it, who want to invest time, can't afford to do it.

You know, there are a lot of people that are 60 plus, 65 plus in that age group, and they're a lot more understanding, have more empathy about that.

They're working themselves, so they can't afford full time, so they can't afford to put that.

So those are my thoughts.

I do have questions about how many visits and that kind of thing.

And do you have a system of recording complaints and that kind of thing?

Um, commissioner Dunlap and commissioner league both made the point that over five, six years, we are, are basically in the same space that we've been in, right.

Since we've been on the board, SRM has definitely been talking about it.

So I think it's even greater than five or six years.

Yeah.

So I say that to say this, if services for seniors is a priority for us, this is certainly, uh,

meets that threshold is in this wheelhouse we can't go another we can't be at this same point again next year it's just unacceptable um we just can't we won't be at the same point next year so what that means is we're going to have to um to your point commissioner yti is to figure out how do we have more of a sense of urgency and getting the support that's needed

but I'm not expecting you all to do the heavy lifting.
