And so we had this conversation about like, let's choose to be present.
Now the same goes for my kids, right?
Like if they're
kind of off looking at the iPad or, you know, it's like, hey, let's let's actually choose to be present.
And my dad actually told me a story recently.
Um so my father worked at IBM for about thirty three years, but he was always home for dinner.
And it was really interesting because he reminded me this week why.
And uh he said, Well
Actually, here we go.
You want you want to know about me.
So my younger sister got meningitis when she was nine months old and almost died.
And she was actually like clinically dead for twenty minutes.
And then she came back alive.
And uh she's been a wheelchair ever since, but she has a business degree.
She's just like an amazing woman who does amazing things.
And my dad said to me recently this week, I had a hard week at work.
There's someone going on that I was I was talking to him about.
And he was like, You know, Martha, when it comes down to it, the important things, the things that actually are most meaningful, right, in our lives and our community, you can talk about.
He said, I realize that was family and kids.
And after your sister almost died, like nothing phases me.
