The most exceptional stories of change, right?
I'm like, oh my God, what's going to happen to Olivia?
And they just get so immersed in it.
And then the lessons are kind of like the equivalent of like hiding broccoli in your kid's food.
I almost don't want people to realize that they're learning stuff along the way because I just wanted it to be a really immersive, emotional reading process.
And so as I sought out these characters, I thought, okay, I want them to be
exceptional stories of change, right?
The most riveting ones that I can personally find.
But then I want within those stories to sit universal lessons about change that can apply to each of our lives.
So a good example of this is I interviewed two people whose stories look completely different on their surface.
So there was a cancer patient who in his early 30s, despite
adhering to every good nutrition practice despite being an avid athlete, despite sprinkling chia seeds on his food, received a stage four bone cancer diagnosis.
And then there was a woman who found out after her husband's death that he had had a multi-decade affair.
during their marriage.
And both these people were grappling with a feeling of betrayal.
And how interesting that two people whose stories look nothing alike on the surface were actually grappling with very similar psychological challenges.
And that was so instructive because what it taught me is we're often told when we're dealing with a particular problem, right,
oh, you're going through a divorce.
Oh, I have a friend who's going through a divorce.
Oh, you're dealing with a job loss.
