So, you know, we're really spinning this.

Absolutely.

So my name is Megan Featherston, and I'm a sports dietitian.

I started my career in a hospital like most dietitians did here 15 years ago.

I was told that there was no market to become a sports dietitian, that I could never make a living going down that realm, even though I was very intrigued by that profession in grad school when I took a sports nutrition class.

I went the traditional route and I worked in a hospital.

Both my parents worked in a hospital.

So that seemed like comfortable and normal to me and interesting.

But as I started to do that, I realized that my passion for nutrition didn't translate to sick people in the hospital.

Right.

That's just not the place to be educating people, motivating people.

And I started running while I was in my first year as a clinical dietitian.

And I realized I didn't know so much about sports nutrition.

And I was screwing so many things up.

And I was like, okay, with my background in nutrition, if I don't know how to do this, no one is doing this appropriately.

So I kind of dug myself into the research and kind of used myself as a guinea pig as I started running more marathons.

And

started a side business while I was still in the hospital.

And that side business slowly took off over a couple years.
