Yes, for three years.
For three years.
Or just sharing memes back and forth, which are basically all of my long distance friendships.
It's how we stay in touch every day.
I absolutely love that.
We moved to new locations to be near family.
You can do it with friends.
We schedule vacations to spend time with family and you can plan those things with friends.
What do you do when a friend is entering a new phase of life?
They fall in love, they get divorced, they have a baby, they change jobs, they move, and you start to feel like you're getting left behind.
What do you do if you sense someone is distancing themselves and you've got this feeling like, did I do something wrong?
Like, what's happening?
And also a lot of times you don't realize what somebody else is going through.
Like I remember when my friendships started to feel a little bit more strained when I was in my kind of early to mid forties, I was going through a major crisis in my financial life and a crisis of confidence.
And it was a disaster and I didn't tell anybody about it.
I just put my head down, got like three different jobs and tried to hold my life together.
And I'm sure a lot of people from the outside thought, well, either she thinks she's better than we are or where did she go or who knows what they thought.
But I didn't tell anybody because I didn't want anyone to know the crisis that I was in.
And so I do.
I love that invitation.
