I was based out of Houston.

I worked for CBS News before being transferred to New York.

So for about eight years or so, I was a news reporter in radio.

Did not do any television.

Right, right.

It was radio, which is my first love because there's just such a beauty in being able to tell stories without pictures and to be able to let your words and your voices, you know, tell the stories for you.

And through those early 90s, and I know many of you here, except for Triple H in the front.

Are too young to remember a lot of the news stories that shaped the 1990s.

But I was a part of a lot of those.

I spent 51 days there with him.

I was part of the Oklahoma.

So what happened was I was working in Houston at the time and I was called in the news business a fireman.

And what that is, is you're basically a general news reporter who's called out to the big crisis stories.

So we always kept a go bag in our car at the time.

And basically it's a duffel bag filled with everything you would need to spend at least a week on the road.

Among those, back in the day, we used cassette recorders and microphones.

Not at all.

The cell phones were as big as a shoebox.

But I got a call that morning.
