But he's making a very forceful, energetic case against the bill.
I think the most powerful thing happened when most people were asleep around 5 a.m.
He started reading testimonials from people who said that they were going to be hurt if this bill passed by Medicaid cuts.
And he had stories from districts around the country.
It was one of the most forceful cases that I think Democrats have made against the bill.
This has been a signature argument.
Looks to me like he keeps speaking.
I stepped out of the chamber to talk to you all, but I think he's going.
The rumor from members of Congress and their staff is that he's going to try to break a record for a House speech.
The technicals of this are really not important.
But essentially, if he speaks for more than eight and a half hours and 32 minutes, he'll have broken a record set by Kevin McCarthy four years ago.
So I think that's where we're at.
I do think the bill is most likely going to pass, though.
If we've seen anything over the last few years of the Republicans, anything could change at any moment.
You know, we're still reporting that out.
I think you saw Ralph Norman from South Carolina say that he had gotten assurances from the president that there would be some action that would go further on clean energy tax credits in the Senate bill.
So we know that the House bill did a lot to phase out and roll back
the clean energy tax credits that were passed under President Biden.
The Senate bill sort of lightened the load on that a little bit.
