I thank the board for recognizing the critical role nonprofits play in serving Loudoun County residents through the Human
increasing the maximum allowable grant requests from $113,000 to $135,000
Following recommendations to account for inflation and rising service delivery cost.
Organizations responded to that policy change by requesting funding levels that reflected current community needs and operational realities, therefore limiting the number of applications approved as the funding ceiling only was increased by three percent.
There are eight organizations that have met the recommendation recommended score of seventy-five points or higher that had not been funded, and they provide vital services to Loudon County residents, which these residents have come to rely on.
In many instances these are crisis intervention services.
Whether it be a senior facing eviction as they had to make a choice to put food on the table, pay a medical bill, or keep utilities flowing.
Um
court mediation to avoid family crisis, a disabled adult needing support to live in the community, or a child facing mental health issues.

Now that you're aware of the vulnerable populations that will be affected by this action, I'm here tonight to request the board to consider filling the approximately five hundred and sixty thousand dollar funding
