Right.
So when that pottery breaks, the artist doesn't try to hide the cracks.
He tries to accentuate them with with more valuable ingredients and traditionally with gold.
And so it draws attention to those cracks and makes them even more beautiful.
The crack becomes part of the art.
And so maybe this is something that we need to hear today because we spend so much time wishing certain parts of ourselves away.
And our story had never happened.
We wish that person had not said that thing or treated us differently or I had gotten that job or we didn't go through that season.
And I completely understand that.
But what if instead of asking, why did this happen to me?
We also begin to ask God, like, what have you done with this?
Right.
Where did he make you stronger?
And where did he give you more wisdom?
Do you have more compassion now?
Have you found your voice?
Or has he drawn closer to you?
Are you closer to him?
Forgiveness is not asking you to call that broken piece good, okay?
It's allowing God to show you what he has created there since that thing happened because he's the potter and he has never been intimidated by your cracks.
