So so that comment we take even even if it's 20 years later and we're still standing in front of that mirror looking for evidence that they were right.
Their behavior became your identity.
And you see it in the mirror when you look at yourself.
And so this is where forgiveness becomes incredibly important for what we do here at Making Life Beautiful Again, okay?
Because forgiveness is not only about releasing what they owe you.
It's also about refusing to continue carrying the identity that they handed you.
And so at some point in time, we have to say, you rejected me, but that doesn't determine my value.
You criticized me, but your opinion no longer matters.
And so this is where we come back to God.
And what does that potter say about the clay?
Because the person who cracked something in you does not have more authority to define you than the one who created you, the master, right?
So number three now is where we get to release it again and look for the gold.
That kintsugi gold, right?
This is the part I think can completely change the way we look at forgiveness.
When something comes back up, instead of thinking, I can't believe I'm still dealing with this.
I thought I forgave them.
That's a shame response.
Recognize it as another opportunity to release another layer, right?
To free you up for that beautiful life you're trying to live.
To to become more of God's masterpiece, who can shine and reflect his glory, because now those cracks are showing that power of the testimony and where he has influenced your life.
