Um, the first of those two starts I thought that um he he was behind from the get go.

And and to me a lot of that is count control.

I think in against Kansas City, um when he got knocked knocked out early he threw ten of first twelve pitches outside the strike zone and that's very unlike him if you look at his walk to strike out ratio and and generally the what he's done from start to start.

I thought when he faced Philadelphia, the Phillies, who were extremely healthy right now, were swinging the bats as well as anybody I'd seen so far this season.

And that includes New York, which is right at the top of Major League Baseball and run scored.

Um extremely veteran discipline lineup.

I thought first time through the lineup Shane was pretty good.

Second time through the lineup they got to him, they got the count in their control and when they did they did damage and and I think

I think, you know, for Shane it starts with consistent count control.

Um and when he's able to command his fastball, um, he's going to be, you know, a guy who can pitch at the top of the rotation.

But it really does start with that.

And um they said they've made some little tweaks in between starts and he felt he had a good bullpen.

So um, you know, hopefully he finds his his rhythm early tonight 'cause I know that uh Toronto comes into this series

having swung to bat pretty darn well on that last West Coast trip West Coast trip.

I wasn't surprised.

Um, you know, I knew that with with the race playing at a temporary halt for this year, they had halted their Hall of Fame.

They had you know, a couple of years ago they they put uh their first Hall of Fame together and and it was clear that once Evan retired he was gonna be part of the next the next class and and uh and likely have his number three uniform retired because nobody has worn it since.

Um he

came to the ballpark last year um to throw out a first pitch and he was the voice on uh uh you know a a a lot of uh on some of our our marketing pieces too and really enjoyed chatting with him and have always appreciated him and his his wife Jamie and their family and their commitment really to this area.
