It's a lot more innocent.
But what if there was?
It was an embassy school.
You know, the American and the British embassy schools were next door to each other.
So there was this threat.
And it was so normalized for me.
It's only when I came here 15 years ago and I talked to people and I heard the experiences that I realized, actually, my childhood was quite unusual in some ways.
And bomb scares are not normal.
They're not supposed to be.
That's not supposed to be a reason you get a day off school.
And it just made me care so much about refugees.
And it made me, especially children, child asylum seekers, it made me care so much because I realized that everything that I went through was not even slightly, even a little bit of what they go through.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, beautiful.
I loved it.
that my parents gave me this unusual upbringing of taking me out to my mom, who is, I sometimes think she could be a lawyer, she could talk anyone into anything.
But she was able to convince the school that I was enrolled in when I was really young, so nursery onwards, that she would like to take me away for 10 months of the year.
And then just bring me back for a few months to do my exams, like final exams.
And they were like, how are you going to do that?
She's a qualified teacher.
